The History of the Walter Family

Artistic Legacy:

Paintings, Drawings, Sculpture, Photography

Francis Archibald Wentworth Walter (1926–2009), known as Frank Walter, is one of the most prolific visual artists of the twentieth-and-twenty-first-century Caribbean.

The Frank Walter Catalogue Raisonné project is being undertaken by the Walter family and art historian Barbara Paca to verify the authenticity and provenance of the artist’s 5,000 paintings, 1,000 drawings, 2,000 photographs, 600 hand-carved wooden sculptures, 2,000 hand-carved wooden picture frames, and 500 handmade wooden toys.

Each work is being carefully measured, photographed, stamped, and documented with detailed conservation photographs. The list of paintings, sculpture, photographs, hand-carved wooden picture frames, and handmade wooden toys are being added to a data base to confirm authenticity of each work of art.
